In today’s Gospel, St. Luke quotes Our Lord as saying: “(God) is not the god of the dead, but of the living, for to Him all are alive.” As I write this letter on November 2nd, I was saddened to hear of the death of Sister Josephine Stabile, OBT. Sister Stabile was a member of our Parish who served so faithfully as Principal of our Grammar School for many years. We do thank God for her many years of devoted service. And we have the hope that she lives with the Risen Lord.
I am impressed with the lovely Memorial Board that is in our Sanctuary, listing the names of all our Parishioners who were buried from our Church during the past year. It is a graphic reminder that all those who worshiped with us at Mass are now “alive” in Christ.
I join with Mrs. Theresa Bivona and Sister Linda Marie Giovanelly, PVMI, in thanking you for your prayers and for your participation at the Installation Mass last Sunday. Father Guarnieri truly helped mold St. Clare’s into a Community of Faith, Hope and Love. As his successor, I thank him for the wonderful legacy that he has passed on to me!
Gratefully in the Lord,
Father Robert Aufieri
